במאמר שהתפרסם היום ב”הארץ” נטען כי ארצות הברית מתכוונת להציע לישראל מטריית הגנה גרעינית. פרוש הדבר שארצות הברית מאיימת בתגובה גרעינית כנגד התקפה גרעינית מצד אירן על ישראל. כותבי המאמר מצטטים בכיר בממשל בוש שטוען (בצדק) כי האיום האמריקאי אינו אמין.
